Topic: APPEARANCE IN ZION..part 2
(From Sinai to Zion).
Text: Hebrews 12: 18,19.
- 18: For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
22: But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.
God appeared to the Israelites on mount Sinai, but they couldn’t stand what they saw, some people desire to see God face to face, they want to relate with him physically, but they won’t be able stand his presence when they see him, it is dreadful. God tried it with the Israelites, they never wanted such experience anymore, even angels close their eyes to worship him, how did I know? Isaiah 6:2 Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. That’s the reason he doesn’t appear physically to anyone.
They gathered at Sinai, a physical mountain, those who accept Jesus as Lord and saviour are gathered to a spiritual mountain called Zion.
Spiritually, we are not alone, we belong to an association, an assembly, a community of believers and spiritual entities, a spiritual family with a peculiar name: a holy nation, a royal priesthood, peculiar people.
Many people, including Christians, do not know that we, Christians, are not ordinary people. We belong to a network of great personalities, and these personalities are not human, but spirit beings.
Verse 22 of our passage says, ‘ there are innumerable company of angels in Zion,
Look verse 23: You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. NLT. This is our network.
The word Zion is used by God to connote a spiritual atmosphere of God’s people, God doesn’t recognize us by tribe or race but by our faith, and everyone who receives his son as Lord and saviour has joined this spiritual atmosphere.
Appearing in Zion simply means renewing your membership, showing up in his presence, your devotion, your worship privately and collectively with believers.
You can only benefit from this synergy if you appear in his presence regularly. Lots and lots of benefits await you in his presence. You can’t be stranded if you’re regular in Zion.
I have discovered that the people of the dark world could see us better than we see ourselves, it will shock you to know that many Christians do not what they carry while men of the under world are frightened by what they carry. Time will fail to tell you what some of them told me.
If you’re a genuine Christian, you don’t need to go to any river for spiritual bath, you don’t need spiritual works, you don’t need burning of candles, you don’t need to run after prophets, you belong to a power house where you can generate a victorious power over all challenges of life, all you need do is to be regular in Zion. Let nothing take away your personal devotion, your worship, your service to God, be committed in church. God bless you.
