Topic: APPEARANCE IN ZION… Part 4.
(THE SPRINKLING BLOOD)
Text: Hebrews 12: 20,24.
20: No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.
24: You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. NLT.
The word ‘ ZION ‘ was metaphorically and figuratively used by God to denote his city, it is a spiritual community of God’s people and heavenly beings. One of the things that works in Zion for us , God’s people, is the subject of this teaching.
When Cain killed Abel, Abel’s blood cries to God for vengeance, the blood of Jesus does greater and better than that of Abel, Jesus’s blood speaks mercy and forgiveness.
How does this work? Everyone who appears in Zion, that is, surrenders his or her life to Christ, accepts him as Lord and Savior gets a pronouncement for pardon for whatever he or she has done.
In the old testament, God commanded Moses to instruct the Israelites to designate some cities as cities of refugee, where an offender runs to and he or she is safe, today every country makes provision for asylum. So, by God’s arrangement everyone who runs to Zion gets refuge because in Zion is the sprinkling of blood of Jesus that pronounces forgiveness to everyone who is present in her.
What does that imply? It means the past of everyone who appears in Zion is written off, it means the fellow will not be considered as a sinner. Those who appear in Zion automatically becomes saints, but there is a note of warning; sin is not permitted in Zion, your past sins are forgiven, but you are not allowed to continue in sin.
The blood of Jesus removes the consequences of sin; the punishment that came as a result of the sins you have committed is cancelled. Can I shock you? The blood of Jesus reverses the repercussions of your past mistakes. Some people think Jesus’s blood only cleanse sins, no sir, no ma, it goes further to reverse the punishment of your sins and mistakes. This is what Apostle Paul meant when he wrote to the church in Corinth; 1 Corinthians 5;17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! NLT.
You start a new life when you come to Zion, that is, when you accept Jesus as Lord and savior. No sin is ascribed to you. Don’t allow the guilt of your past wrongs to hurt you. You are free, you remain in freedom by remaining in Zion, through your relationship with God, your devotion, your consecration, commitment in church. God bless you.

* I accept Jesus as my Lord and savior.
* I am free from the consequences of my sins in Jesus name.
