Topic: WHY DID GOD WANT BLOOD?
Text: Hebrews 9:22.
22: And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Have you ever asked, ‘ why God needs blood for sins to be forgiven? The answer is here just follow me.
Where people err and go scot free justice is denied, if sinners go unpunished, then God is be unfair to Adam and Eve who simply eat a fruit.
Society that doesn’t punish offenders will soon go into anarchy, state of lawlessness. Let me come out this way; if one of your children hurt another and you let he or she go without punishment, scolding, warning or caution you will soon create an unfriendly atmosphere in your home. The ideal thing is that offended be punished.
Every government enacts laws to punish offenders for justice to be served, someone must and should pay for any wrong done, the measure of punishment is determined by degree of the offence committed.
It is important to note that where justice is not served, the blood of the victim cries for vengeance as in the case of Abel when he was killed by Cain his brother. Genesis 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Let me let you know that God has automated justice on earth at the point creation, how did I know? Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
The ground we walk upon is automated to bear fruit to everyone according to whatever he or she sows.
The spirit of every victim of offence demands justice from God just as Abel’s spirit demanded from God. Look at this Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
For God to ensure justice someone must be punished for sin, in the old testament he allowed the sacrifice of animals as atonement for sin, atonement is merely compensation for wrong doing not redemption, God wanting a lasting solution to sins of humanity transfered all human wrongs to Jesus. How did he do that? He made to go through the worst kind of death that he might save the worst sinner.
Jesus’s death, punishment, torment, anguish, grief, sorrow, excruciating pains is the justice served for our sins, so when anyone accepts Jesus, Jesus’s punishment is then considered as his or her punishment for sin, no other punishment or sacrifice is needed. The blood of Jesus then speaks forgiveness and pardon the fellow that accepts Jesus.
God equates blood to life, Leviticus 17:11f or the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible. When Jesus’s blood was shed is life was sacrificed so that we can live as if we have no sin. God bless you.
