Topic: NOT USEFUL TO GOD & MEN
Text: Luke 19:12-25KJV
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
God made man in his image after his likeness, he gave man authority to dominate the earth and to be fruitful. As part of the program of God for man to be fruitful, he deposited talents, gifts, grace in everyman to be a blessing to his generation and to make heaven proud. But it’s quite disappointing to God that many men refuse to make you of their talents to bless their generation. God is always on the lookout for a man that will make impact in his generation and make heaven proud, a man who will stand as God’s Ambassador on the earth and be a channel through which lives are blessed.
From our scriptural passage above, ten servants were given ten talents each by their Lord to trade with and make impact in their generation till he (their Lord) returns. One of them kept the talent unused and brought it back to his master, the master of course condemned him. Why?
* The talent was not useful to men because that servant failed to use his talent to bless lives of men. So man is impacted or benefited from that servant’s existence on the earth
* The talent was not useful to the master either. I mean th master has no need of the talent for himself, that’s why he gave his servant to make use of it, bless lives of men and make the master proud. But since the servant failed to use the talent it lie there unused.
* The master dislike laziness and wastage of resources. That servant was lazy, wasteful and unprofitable, hence he was condemned to eternal damnation.
Beloved, whatever God has given you, he gave you to impact lives, bless lives, make heaven proud and expand his kingdom here on the earth. That gift and talents are not useful in heaven (no sinner, no sick, no poor or needy persons in heaven) but only useful here on the earth. So failure to use them on earth will amount that you are wasteful with the gifts, talents, wisdom, knowledge, riches, grace that are not useful to men and to God. Think on this thing… God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, don’t make me useless to God and men in Jesus Name
