Topic: THE BLESSEDNESS OF OBEDIENCE
Text: Leviticus 26: 3-5
3: “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands,
4: I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.
5: Your threshing season will overlap with the grape harvest, and your grape harvest will overlap with the season of planting grain. You will eat your fill and live securely in your own land. NLT
God gives us instructions as we give our children instructions, an obedient child enjoys the favour of his parents, in like manner, as we obey God his blessings flow in our lives.
We have a lot of prayer warriors, church workers, church goers, but few obedient christians. Some people have use mercy to replace obedience, you hear things like, ‘ his mercy will speak for me ‘, the truth is that our blessings are attached to obedience to his commands.
God’s standard is unshaking, anyone who will be his child must obey his instructions, he doesn’t permit us to live our lives anyhow, we are expected to live according to divine instructions.
Our text states clearly God’s blessing for those who obey his instructions. verse 4 says, ‘ I will send you the seasonal rains ‘, by seasonal rains he meant rain in due season to ensure the seeds sown germinates and bring forth crops in it right season.
This means God is set to bless our labour and prosper the works of our hands. This is a promise of prosperity, fruitfulness and abundance.
God has great things in stock for those who obey his instructions, living your life according to scripture is the key to accessing your blessings. It is therefore not wrong to say that obedience to his words brings abundance. God bless you.
