Topic: REVELATION
Text: Luke 19: 41,42.
41: And as He approached, He saw the city, and He wept [audibly] over it,
42: Exclaiming, Would that you had known personally, even at least in this your day, the things that make for peace (for freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin and upon which your peace—your security, safety, prosperity, and happiness—depends)! But now they are hidden from your eyes. Amplified.
Jesus wept in two places or on two occasions in the Bible.
1, At the grave of Lazarus John 11:35
2, In our text for today.
It is important to note that no event is exaggerated in the bible, Jesus’s character and emotions are written as expressed.
The reason Jesus wept is a point to note, before I state the reason, how he wept is also a major concern. Amplified version qualified the weeping with an adverb ‘ audibly ‘, it means people could hear him weep. It won’t be out of place to say; he wept like a baby. When you see a baby cry you won’t be surprised, babies are used to crying, when you see a woman cries of course it must be a serious matter, but not like when a man cries.
When a full grown man cries it must be a very serious matter, but it can be serious as when you see the saviour, the king of kings, the Lord of Lords, the ancient of days, the one who raised the dead, heal the sick, cries, then it is extremely serious, since he has power he could have fixed the subject matter that led to the weeping.
I am imagining how his disciples and the people with him felt when he was weeping, I trust Apostle Peter he would have said, ‘ master, what happened now? Everyone is watching , don’t embarrass us here, you can do this when you are with the 12 not in this place‘ .
And Jesus answered by exclaiming, there was and exclamation like ‘ yeh! Ha! Oh! Chai! Kai! If only you know what pertains to your peace …. but now they are hidden from you ‘.
There is knowledge about a man that will transform his life. The best of a man can’t manifest until he has access to some information about himself.
Going to school is not enough, there are spiritual information, they are secrets about your life, there is a road map to your destiny, it is not a general map it is individually given. Look at this clause in verse 42:… would that you had known personally, even at least in this your day ‘. You can see that it is personal revelation.
Jesus wept in our passage because information about their peace, freedom, prosperity, security, safety and happiness was hidden from them. This is the true picture of many people’s lives, they lack information that will lead to their peace and prosperity.
My prayer for you is that the Lord will reveal to you the information you need for your peace and prosperity and that of your children in Jesus name.
POINTS OF PRAYER.
* Lord, reveal to me secret things about my life.
* I need revelation for transformation.
* Release to me Lord road map to my destiny.
* Lord, I don’t want to miss it life.
* Lord, reveal me to secret things about my children.
* Reveal road map to their destinies in the name of Jesus.
* I shall not walk in darkness.
* My children shall not walk in darkness in the name of Jesus.
* I shall not live in ignorance of vital information about my life and destiny in the name of Jesus.
* Reveal what will lead to my prosperity in the name of Jesus.
