Topic: EXPERIENCING NEWNESS.Part3
Text: Philippians 3;13,14.
13: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14: I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Apostle Paul made some salient points in our passage I have discussed two in part 1 and part 2, it is important I discuss in details so that the aim of the teaching can be achieved.
I have found out that the bible contains all that we need, if you allow the Spirit of God to lead you in the course of study your life will be illuminated.
In verse 14 the great Apostle made a valid point, ‘ I press toward the mark ..’ Pressing is another conscious effort in experiencing newness, another word that could stand in place of PRESSING is DILIGENCE.
The word diligence is defined as Conscientiousness in paying proper attention to a task; giving the degree of care required in given situation. The definition can simply be summarized as working with care and effort.
A careless and effortless life will amount to nothing. Nothing happens without any course of action, simply put, things don’t just happen, human beings made things happen. Can I shock you? Where God stopped, in the course of creation, he expects man to continue. Your result in life is a function of the actions you take about your life.
While people leave things in the hands of God, God expects them to take steps. Do you know that God rebuke Moses for praying to him at the red sea?
Exodus 14:15 The Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward!
16: Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the Israelites shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. Amplified.
Why did God rebuke him? That wasn’t time for prayer rather time for action, he has got solution in his hand so he needn’t to pray at that point. All he needed is to move forward.
Making effort to move your life forward is crucial, don’t sit back and fold your hands, get up and get started, linger no more, step out. I know you have made some efforts in the past that yielded nothing, forget the past, this time you will breakthrough.
God wants you to move forward, be strong and courageous. This time around be diligent; work with care and effort. Be careful of your steps, do due diligence and the Lord will prosper your endeavors in Jesus name.
