PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
25th April, 2025
Topic: UNRAVELING THE MYSTERY OF REDEMPTION.
Text: Colossians 1:12-14

12: Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

It is important we differentiate between atonement and redemption. Atonement is making up for sin committed, it is compensation for wrong doings while redemption is purchasing back something or someone that was previously sold. Atonement is appeasing a deity, people in old testament era only appeased God for their wrong doings through the blood of animals they weren’t redeemed, they were not bought back.

You won’t understand what was purchased back if you do not know what was sold out. The human race was sold out in Adam. I trust God to help me deliver this in a way you will understand it.

let me come out this way; Adam and Eve were placed in Eden, the word ‘ Eden ‘ is from the Hebrew word ‘ ēdhen ‘ meaning a place of pleasure or delight. It was a place of Joy and contentment. It is definitely not the world we are in right now.

The whole world is outside Eden, how did it happen? Three calamities befell the human race in Eden;
1, Lost of identity.
2, Change of Nature (image)
3, Change of environment. These three major occurrences are indicators that the human race was sold out. Time will fall me to explain them one by each here, but I promise to do justice to them later, let’s focus on redemption here.

Adam and Eve changed nature after they eat the forbidden fruit. They were made in the nature of God, they suddenly transform to this kind of nature the entire human beings possess now. their feelings, thoughts, mindset, actions, intensions, ambitions, changed. How do I know this?
Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6: And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

He knew that would happen and that’s the reason he chased them out of Eden before they mess up the beautiful garden, so he threw them into this world which had no light, no technology, no pleasure, for man to develop it himself. Man developed his own light and technology.

The purpose of redemption is to take us back to that nature of God that they lost in Eden. Christ’s birth, death and resurrection is to restore us back to the nature of God. 2 peter 1:4 buttresses this: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Do you notice ‘ partakers of the divine nature? That’s the redemption, restoration back to the divine nature, that’s restoring human beings back to the feelings, intensions, mindset of God. That’s living in his nature, it is attaining a point of no evil intensions, living with right mindset, purity of heart, living in righteousness and holiness. That’s the divine nature. That’s the end product of redemption.

Redemption is not professing Christianity and still living in sin, you speak in tongues but you still tell lies and commit other atrocities. Redemption is regaining the nature of God that Adam lost in Eden. God bless you.
