Text: Psalms 1:1..Part 3.
1: Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
Still unraveling the mysteries in Psalms chapter 1. The Psalmist speaking explicitly by the Spirit of the Lord brought to light what a man needs to be blessed.
Let’s move to the last sentence of Psalms 1:1 Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable is the man… nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. Many people handle mockery with levity, but God frowns at it seriously.
Who is a mocker? Anyone who rejoices at the fall of another person, anyone who takes pleasure in misfortune of others. If anyone will receive blessings from the Lord he or she must not be a mocker.
Don’t speak like you’re better than others, it’s wrong to see yourself more intelligent or smarter than others, whatever you have is by the grace of God. Don’t look down on others, don’t humiliate anyone, we all are equal before God.
Everyone is valuable before God, your wealth, academic qualifications, achievements, do not make you superior to others, our lives are not valued by material possessions, but by impacts we make in people’s lives.
Be a lifter of men, be a source of encouragement to people, be a light that shines on the path of others. Don’t be the reason anyone cries, don’t have a part in the downfall of anyone.
If you will be blessed of the Lord, you must not be found with mockers or seen as a mocker. Look at Proverbs 19;29 Punishment is made for mockers, and the backs of fools are made to be beaten.NLT.
If you must be blessed of the Lord, he mustn’t find you with mockers. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, I repent of every act of mockery.
